Cargo Hold Condition Survey services

Before any cargo can be loaded, the condition of the vessel's cargo holds must be thoroughly inspected and certified as suitable for the intended cargo. A cargo hold condition survey protects all parties by ensuring that holds are clean, dry, free of residue, and structurally sound enough to receive the next cargo without risk of contamination, damage, or rejection at the discharge port.

What We Inspect

Our cargo hold condition surveys cover every aspect of hold readiness. We inspect the general cleanliness of hold surfaces including tank tops, frames, and bulkheads. We check for residue from previous cargoes, rust scale, loose paint, water ingress, and any structural damage or corrosion that could affect the cargo. We also examine hatch covers for watertightness, check the drainage system (bilges and bilge wells), and verify that ventilation systems are operational.

For grain cargoes, we conduct inspections in accordance with the International Grain Code. For sensitive or high-value cargoes, we apply the strictest standards to ensure zero contamination risk.
